Walrus Portrait

I photographed this large walrus in the north of Svalbard. It was one of a number of walruses that approached to within only a few metres away from the front of my lens!

Walruses can be found in both the Pacific and Atlantic Arctic, however the Atlantic walruses tend to be slightly smaller. Walruses can dive to around 90m to find food and can stay submerged for up to half an hour.
